singer-songwriter
Toronto, canada
A vocal powerhouse with a diverse background rooted in classical music, musical theatre and dance, Allan masterfully unites genres, fusing elements from pop to metal, crafting a sound that's all his own. Through his songs, he shares stories about the complexities of queer life, grief, shame, reclaiming one’s power, finding one’s voice, and ultimately overcoming and triumph. With a stage presence as powerful as his versatile vocals, Allan’s live shows bring his talents together and bring audiences to their feet all around the world.
Originally from Brazil, Allan began his musical journey as a child singing and playing piano. From his aunt he learned the songs of Sunday morning church, from his mother, Brazilian folk music. Allan’s sister introduced him to the music of Led Zeppelin and the Doors, and his life changed forever when he heard the fusion of screaming lyrics and classical music in the Brazilian Band Angra. From that moment, he knew he had to create and perform music that brings worlds together. Armed with a 4 octave range, harp, piano and abundant song writing skills, Allan takes solid aim at the barriers we all face, demolishing grief, shame, hopelessness and isolation with every verse and chorus. Allan has a particular heart for those in the queer community; his life and music is a message of resilience, hope and power that lifts us even higher than his stratospheric vocals.
In addition to being one of North America’s few queer metal singers, Allan has a degree in Business. After completing that degree, Allan became an active member of the performing arts community in Edmonton, AB, engaging in many musical theatre and opera productions. He then furthered his music, dance and acting skills at MacEwan University earning a diploma in Musical Theatre. Allan’s talents for business have made him successful in the world of classical music that he so loves. His orchestral career started in the marketing department of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and with his extensive video production skills, he later had the job of Digital Content Producer created for him at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, where he still works.
